Milo and our LifeSavers Values – Generosity
Milo and our LifeSavers Values – Generosity
How do you feel about spending money? Is it ok to spend money if it’s on someone else?
In our Story Milo is given some money. When Milo meets his Brother, he is so excited. He tells his brother how he helped his uncle paint and had a great time. Then his Uncle surprises him and gives him some money to say thank you. Milo was so thankful but also a little lost.
What does he do with money? This is not something he has had of his own before.
He asks for his Brother’s advice. Milo’s Brother is much older and says he should spend it all on something for himself. Milo thinks about this. What does he want? Does he want anything?
Take a moment to think about what you want – anything in the world – what would be the first thing you would want?
Milo is still unsure what he should do and he continues along his journey. Later he meets his Teacher, who reminds him that his friend from school is not very well. When Milo tells his teacher about his newly acquired money, they suggest that he could buy something for his friend to make him smile.
Do you think Milo’s poorly friend would be happy to receive a gift from Milo? Would you be happy?
What about other people – have you made someone smile with an unexpected gift? Flowers for mum or a hand made gift for a grandparent?
Giving and being generous doesn’t have to cost money – does it have more value when it does? Should we keep all our money for ourselves?
Milo decides that he wants to buy his friend a comic. He knows that he loves reading comics and they can share they story together and maybe even have a laugh. This makes Milo feel happy and he trots off to Mr Randall’s shop to choose the comic!
