Learning about generosity and sharing with Milo

In the story Milo’s Money, Milo meets up with one of his friends and talks to him about the money he has and what he could do with it. At this point, he has had all sorts of advice around spending, saving and thinking about what he wants. His friend adds something new to consider, he talks to Milo about sharing. His idea is that Milo has some money, so does he, they could put their money together and buy something which they could share and enjoy together.

What sorts of things do you share?

It’s great to have those things that we love for ourselves, games we like playing on our own, books or comics we like to read when we have time to ourselves.

Sometimes though, it’s also great fun to have something which we can share with someone else. It could be something like a ball or a tennis set, something which is much more fun when played with a friend. It could be a book or comic to read together, or maybe some art and craft materials which you could make some really great things with. The point is that it really is fun to share!

Playing with a friend and sharing something with them will make you laugh, talk more and perhaps make that friendship even stronger. Having friends is great. Sharing things with them is always fun too.

What are your favourite games/activities to share with friends?

Think about the sorts of things you have at home which are terrific for sharing. I bet you have some great games to play with friends which mean you need to share something. Sometimes it’s good to take those things you share and make up new games with new rules to them, can you think of games you play together which you have invented? They always seem to be the best kind, because they are yours, and your friends!

Sharing is so much fun, whether it’s something which is yours or perhaps a piece of playground equipment at school. The best games are the ones you play together. The laughs you have with friends. What will you share today? Think about that when you are shouting and laughing together.

Sharing is the BEST fun!

Thought for the week:

What have you shared recently that has been fun?

What could you share this week that you will enjoy?
