Last year many individuals and churches responded to the Archbishop of Canterbury's call to help grow the Mustard Seed Appeal.

These generous donations helped to launch the Just Finance Foundation which aims to create a fair financial system: transforming the lives of those in financial crisis and encouraging a new generation who manage money wisely.

This year we're asking you to help us plant more seeds of hope so that we can grow the work of the JFF and transform the lives of people like Nicky:

When Nicky’s washing machine broke down, she didn’t know where she was going to get the money for a new one.

A friend told her about a new credit union that had opened up in the area, so Nicky went along and applied for a loan. She couldn’t believe it when she was accepted.

This was a turning point. Nicky is now saving for the first time in her life and loves to watch her savings grow. She says:

"People like me can't get a loan anywhere else, but the credit union trusts you and that feels good." "It [the credit union] has definitely changed my life. I used to feel terrible about money, but now I feel so hopeful."

The work of the JFF will help more people like Nicky have a brighter future, full of hope, as they take control of their finances. Our networks in Liverpool, London and Newcastle are already supporting and promoting credit unions and other community finance providers.
